SANTAFERIA’S new album CUMBIA CASERA (“house cumbia”) is a testimony to the band’s growth and transformation since their beginnings in the early 2000’s. Combining the elements of Argentinian “cumbia villera” (roughly translated as “ghetto cumbia” or “shantytown cumbia”) with ska, reggae, and other Latin genres, SANTAFERIA was celebrated as the Chilean band most listened to in that country according to Spotify playlists for the year 2019. To celebrate the band performed before an audience of 13,000 music fans. With COVID-19 came new challenges to the music industry but that did that did not slow SANTAFERIA down, instead they worked more, editing new singles, producing videos and debuting their new album CUMBIA CASERA (all from their home studio). One of the their most popular tracks to date has been the single DEJA TU LUZ.
