Uruguay’s NO TE VA GUSTAR (‘NTVG’) have been nominated to two Latin Grammys for Best Rock Album: ‘Luz‘ and Best Rock Song ‘Venganza’ featuring Nicki Nicole. With a career spanning over 25 years, NTVG has toured all through South America, Cuba, Panama, México, United States, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, England and Spain.
Los Angeles, CA – This triumph marks the first first two official nominations for the band’s label ‘Elefante Blanco’ since becoming 100% independent. With these new nominations, No Te Va Gustar reaches a total of 9 during its career. The last two were for their previous studio album “Suenan Las Alarmas” (Best Rock Album) and for the song “Para Cuando Me Muera” (Best Rock Song) at the 2018 ceremony.
LUZ is nominated for BEST ROCK ALBUM; this is the band’s most recent record released last May which already has over 35 million streams. It was produced by Héctor Castillo and recorded during October of 2020 in José Ignacio, Uruguay. LUZ is an album with 12 fresh new songs which includes ‘No Te Imaginás’, ‘Venganza’ with Nicki Nicole and ‘Austro’ with Ricardo Mollo.
VENGANZA with Nicki Nicole is nominated for BEST ROCK SONG. This track was released the 5th of March of 2021 and is written by Emiliano Brancciari (NTVG) and Nicki Nicole. It has a powerful message against gender violence. The great urban artist joined the band for an unusual but explosive collaboration.
No Te Va Gustar will make its return to the stage in front of thousands of eager fans and present LUZ at Estadio Centenario in Montevideo next December 11th.
