No Te Va Gustar releases their new music video for the song “Mi Ausencia” with the surprising participation of two famous dancers, Julio Bocca and Rosina Gil, and directed by two movie directors: Ale Damiani and Oliver Lee Garland (Damnland).
“Mi Ausencia”‘s composer Emiliano Brancciari, singer for No Te Va Gustar, describes the song’s lyrics: “Disagreement as the only focal point in a relationship that falls apart, and afterwards when there’s nothing left, you long for what was lost, because that, although sparse and far-off, kept you together, if nothing else.” The directors and dancers were informed by this to create a unique audiovisual piece, an elegant allegory about love in its final stage.
With a screenplay full of visual appeal and Rosina and Julio’s sublime performance, “Mi Ausencia” is the sixth video released from the album “LUZ,” which was released in May 2021 and recently nominated for a Latin Grammy. The album has already surpassed 30 million streams on digital platforms and includes the singles “No Te Imaginás” and “Venganza ft. Nicki Nicole,” the latter of which was also nominated for a Latin Grammy in the Best Rock Song category, among others.
“My feeling was of happiness and to have fun, to create something different, to test myself and see what I feel dancing again. Well, more than dancing, moving and working with a respected and beloved rock group. One of the most beautiful things was seeing all of the musicians at the end of filming there supporting the whole team, because the entire team that worked on this project was top notch. Working with Rosina was very special because she is a great artist, and we always support each other…in short, for me, this project represented happiness, harmony, endurance and dedication.” – Julio Bocca
“We wanted to unearth a poetic feeling for the painful moment that is the breakdown of a difficult relationship. Visually those contrasts are suggested of loving the other person and not being good to the other person at the same time. That tension is dispersed throughout the entire structure of the video.” – Oliver Garland
“Dancing with a dance legend like Julio Bocca to do my choreography and, besides that, with the music of No Te Va Gustar, is one of those dreams that one doesn’t dare to dream or imagine. To do the choreography, I was inspired by the music and the lyrics; I wanted to embody the motions, almost robotic, that the routine of continuing in a relationship that no longer works can produce, but that there are still fires that remain without dampening, hidden resentments, and an almost toxic dependency.” – Rosina Gil
“The idea was to visually represent the cyclical and toxic form that a breakup has when you can neither be together nor separated any longer. All the trips and curves that lead to an end, obvious to everyone except those involved.” – Ale Damiani
