Modern pop legend Carly Rae Jepsen brought the moon and the stars to Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom, literally. The artist most known for her 2012 hit “Call Me Maybe” introduced thousands of adoring Chicago fans to a night filled with two hours of 28 favorites and B Sides spanning her 15-year career.

“Feel what you need to feel.” was the theme of the night, a reminder echoed by a Carly Rae Jepsen animated moon that has visited the multiple stops on this tour with her. And, if there has been a common theme in the “So Nice” series of performances, it has been one of feel, dance, love and feel some more. The energy of excited followers pursued CRJ’s performance through every track from the opening with “This Love Isn’t Crazy” through stand out singles like “I Really Like You”, “Beach House”, “Want You In My Room”, “Boy Problems”, to end of the night with “The Loneliest Time”, and “Cut To The Feeling”. Bringing her own brand of energy and charisma to the stage, was bilingual alternative R&B artist Empress Of. Showcasing tracks from her latest EP “Save Me” on this tour, the night would not have been complete without Empress Of’s performance of her hit “Wild Girl”, single recorded with Australian record producer/DJ KITO. The production of “Save Me” marks a new chapter in the Empress Of’s career as she takes on the world with her new label Major Arcana and has recently lent her vocals to the track “Take Me Back” featuring Bryce Dessner of The National. Empress Of’s latest work has been characterized by major critics as “some of the sharpest, most sophisticated dance-pop” (Paper Magazine) and RockDaBeat couldn’t agree more! (Photos below!)

With the “So Nice” tour now concluded the next best place to turn to is the interwebs and all those wonderful links.
